PLIDA(Progetto Lingua Italiana Dante Alighieri)

PLIDA (Progetto Lingua Italiana Dante Alighieri) is an official Italian language proficiency test organized by the Società Dante Alighieri. It is approved by the Italian government and authorized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, the Ministry of Education and University Studies, and the Ministry of the Interior. Every year, the test is administered at 400 PLIDA examination centers across 74 countries. PLIDA also offers the PLIDA JUNIORES certification for those between the ages of 13 and 18.
PLIDA is also one of the certifications of the CLIQ (Certificazione Lingua Italiana di Qualità), a quality standard for the Italian language examination recognized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Therefore, PLIDA is recognized by the Italian government as a high-quality certification.

The language courses run by Dante Alighieri offer Italian language and culture courses covering all levels, from beginner to the most advanced.
All Italian courses follow the EU standards outlined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (Quadro Comune di Riferimento Europeo per le Lingue).

Italian Culture Course for Children (GGDA)

The Italian educational project for children, “Il Gruppo Giovanile Dante Alighieri (GGDA),” offers activities related to Italian culture and Italian language lessons. These lessons are primarily aimed at children from families living in Japan who are either Italian or interested in Italian culture. GGDA remains dedicated to promoting intercultural harmony, mutual understanding, and a peaceful future.
Events ・Seminars

To deepen your understanding of Italian culture, we host events on a wide range of topics, including art, wine, cuisine, architecture, and history. While the events are conducted in Italian, they are accompanied by Japanese translations either via audio translation or subtitles, making them accessible even to beginners.

Our association also conducts initiatives aimed at corporations, organizations, and local governments to promote Italian language education and Italian culture in Japan. Società Dante Alighieri Membership

Individuals who enroll in comprehensive Italian language courses offered by Società Dante Alighieri Tokyo will receive membership status and an annual membership card (valid from January 1 to December 31).
By becoming a member, you can enjoy various benefits, including discounts on seminars, events, exhibitions, and concerts organized or sponsored by us. In addition to these benefits, the membership card provides discounts and perks at various shops, museums, restaurants, and hotels abroad, including those in Italy, which are affiliated with Società Dante Alighieri.
Anyone can become a member by paying the annual fee, even if you are not currently studying Italian. By doing so, you will receive the benefits above and help support a better intercultural relationship between Italy and Japan.
