An organization that promotes Italian culture and language in Japan

With more than 400 branches in about 80 countries and over 130 years of history, Società Dante Alighieri (headquartered in Rome) is an organization that promotes Italian culture and the Italian language throughout the world.
As a legal corporation recognized by the Italian government, it is highly respected in the Italian education industry.
In addition to language lessons, the Tokyo Branch of Società Dante Alighieri offers PLIDA Italian Language Certificate Examinations, support for study abroad and immigration to Italy, Italian language classes for children, events, seminars, and many other activities.

【PLIDA】The Official Italian Language Certification

Organised by the Società Dante Alighieri, PLIDA (Progetto Lingua Italiana Dante Alighieri) is an official Italian‑language qualification recognised by the Italian government, through accords with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Labour & Social Policies, Education/University/Research, and the Interior. It is the most widely taken and most trusted Italian‑language exam worldwide, with test centres in 400 locations across 74 countries. We also run PLIDA JUNIORES for candidates aged 13–18.

Italian Education Project for Children (GGDA)

The Italian Education Project for Children, “Il Gruppo Giovanile Dante Alighieri (GGDA),” offers Italian cultural activities and language lessons. The project is aimed at children of Italian families living in Japan and families interested in Italian culture. GGDA promotes projects with a view to intercultural harmony, mutual understanding, and a peaceful future.
