Seminar Content
The Società Dante Alighieri Morón and Corrientes Branches, in collaboration with the Tokyo Branch, will co-host a seminar titled “The Italian Language: Language of Peace” to mark the International Week of the Italian Language. This event aims to explore the importance of peace conveyed through the Italian language.
As we approach the 80th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, we will analyze the work of Italian writer Alberto Moravia and the story of Sadako Sasaki, the model for the Children’s Peace Monument. We will contrast Sadako’s story with the sense of empty despair found in Moravia’s literature, and consider the search for meaning amidst suffering.
This seminar will be held in Easy Italian. Support materials in Japanese will be sent out in advance.
